Andy
Briggs - Furniture Restoration and General Antiques
We first met Andy years ago, through the monthly Woodstock Antiques Fair. It was after the town council forced him to end that great little fair that we launched Antiques@TheHolt, so he's to blame for all this! He's a furniture restorer by trade (as well as beekeeper and archery enthusiast), so brought along some choice examples of his work, as well as a selection of general antiques.

Andy Briggs
can be contacted through his Twitter account. |

Andy
Dodridge Art Glass - 20th Century Art Glass
Art glass specialist Andy returned to The Holt for his second visit as a dealer. He has a particular passion for the work of Michael Harris, so his stock typically contains fine pieces from the early Mdina years, as well Isle of Wight. He also offers some of the finest glass by
the likes of Julia Donnelly, Anthony Stern, Annette Meech and, one of our favourites, Richard Golding (Okra).

Andy
Dodridge can be contacted through his Facebook page. |
|
Tony & Donna Allen - General Antiques, Ceramics & Collectables
Tony Allen and his daughter Donna (and it's good to see the younger generation with an interest in antiques dealing!) stand every Friday at the Cirencester Antiques Market, as well as being regulars at Malvern and Ryton-on-Dunsmore. They offer a range of traditional antiques and collectables, including silver, ceramics, glasswares, the occasional clock, inkwells, prints and paintings.
Arcadia
Antiques - General Antiques, Collectables and Curios
Andrew Long is one of our most determined supporters, and has yet to miss an Antiques@TheHolt. His table veritably groans with the weight of the interesting selection of antiques and
curios he always amasses (plus his very individual shelving system). Expect a few clocks, a bit of Charlotte Rhead, musical instruments, glass, ceramics
and some select items of militaria.

Marilyn Arrigoni - Fine ceramics, Moorcroft, Troika & Silverwares
Marilyn made her debut at The Holt for the Easter fair 2016. She specialises in fine 20th century ceramics, and her stock includes some fine examples of works by Moorcroft and Troika. Her Moorcroft selection is imposing, and includes pieces from the early years as well as more contemporary examples. She also displayed examples of glass, silver and jewellery.

Brook
Collectables - Val Sparks
Val Sparks does us proud every time she comes to The Holt, with an impressive array of very tasteful antiques, woodenwares and curios. She also bings some select items of furniture, glasswares and ceramics. Her display beams with beautifully patinated wood, polished brass, the glint of glass, and more often than not, some flowers to highlight the wooden boxes and treen.

Michael Collier - Vintage Topographical & Themed Postcards
Mike has one of the most impressive collections of regional topographic postcards we've ever seen. He is only able to bring a small percentage of his stock to The Holt - perhaps 20,000 cards in total - with an emphasis on local towns and villages in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the Cotswolds. He tempts us each fair with his Titanic memorabilia, but we can't afford the insurance!

Martin Cox - Items of Furniture, Boxes and Collectables
November 2016 was Matin's second visit to The Holt, who travels down from Staffordshire to represent Cox & Pierce Antiques. He displayed items of small furniture, including chairs, chests of drawers, tables other period pieces, as well as writing slopes, vanity boxes, tea caddies and other items almost exclusively (but not entirely) made from wood.
Mark
Ditchburn - Art Deco and Victorian Bronzes, Figures & Ceramics
Anyone who has a passion for the elegance and beauty of the classic
Art Deco bronze will instantly appreciate the quality Mark's
stock. His stand includes a vast array of genuine period pieces - with flappers,
dancers and beautiful nudes supplemented by bronzes of dogs and
other animals, as well as choice ceramics from the likes of Wallendorf, Katzhutte, Goldscheider and Hutschenreuther.
|
|
Mark
attends most major fairs,
including Malvern, Ardingly, Detling and Alexandra
Palace.
He can be contacted through this website. |
|
Andrew
Fleming - Clockmaker, Restorer & Repairer
Based in the Cotswolds just west of Oxford,
Andrew is one of the area's foremost repairers and restorers
of antique clocks and timepieces. A fellow of the Fellow of the
British Horological Institute, Andrew established his workshop
some thirty years ago, and now deals in almost everything clockwork,
from clocks, toys and music boxes to barometers and barographs.
Peter
Forbes - Brass, Door Furniture, Metalwork, Tools & Gentleman's
Collectables
Peter Forbes is one of those dealers that everybody knows - not only because he seems to have been around for ever, but because his stock, once seen, is never forgotten. Peter offers genuine antique door furniture,
from solid brass knockers, handles and letterboxes, to coathooks,
escutcheons and plates. Dotted in among will be a few choice 'Mantiques'.
|
Peter
regularly trades in Oxford (Thursday Market) and Cirencester
(Friday) and can be contacted through
this website. Additional images from his stock are
included on the pages from earlier
fairs. |
|
Roy Furniss - Silverwares, Fine Ceramics and Glass
After missing March, Roy was back @TheHolt in November with another tempting selection of fine silverware, dotted here and there with some exceptional quality ceramics and glass. Roy, who is a regular at many of the major fairs, has a fine eye for quality, and seems to find some wonderful examples of the silversmith's art.
Ken
and Eveline Gillians -
Mixed Ceramics, Glass & Jewellery
Ken
and Eveline are another of our longest-standing dealers, having featured at the Holt for every one of our fairs. They
represent the epitome of the traditional dealer, offering a broad spectrum of genuine antiques and collectables, from early stoneware and ceramics, lead crystal
glassware and boxes, to small items
of furniture and period jewellery.
Ken and
Eveline can be contacted through
this website.
Glad
Bags -
General
Antiques, Collectables and Vintage Handbags
Gladys Arnott came back to the Holt for both days in November. She always achieves an eye-catching mix of vintage and traditional antiques,
with a generous smattering of top quality 'ladies accessories', ceramics, glass, silverwares,
pictures and jewellery. Gladys also stands at the monthly
Benson fair, organised by Joy O'Meara.

Jean
Harwood - Ceramics,
Glass, Antiques & Collectables
Jean says she wouldn't
miss a fair at The Holt "for the World", so we're delighted that she's was back again in November with
more of her carefully selected items. Among her favourite stock items are pieces of art glass (especially blue-green Mdina), porcelain, prints, paintings,
silver, jewellery, platedwares and art pottery.
Peter
& Janet Herbert - Glass, Ceramics,
Silver & Jewellery
Allowing for the upheaval of their recent house move, we were honoured that Peter and Janet
went out of their way to join us at The Holt, even if only for the Saturday. Their beautiful
array of jewellery and silver always adds a sparkle to the room, and is tastefully off-set by some choice examples of English and continental porcelain and glass.

& Janet

|
Dittany
Morgan - 18th Century English & Chinese Porcelain
Although Dittany’s passion is for early English and Chinese porcelain, from the 18th Century
or before, her
stock has broadened in recent years to include later examples of top-quality ceramics, particularly teawares, as well as Mauchlineware, crystal glasswares, curios and the occasional Ming dynasty ginger jar, and items of feline interest.

Dittany

website. |
|
Graham
Newell - General Antiques & Collectables
Graham stood with us at the same time in 2015. This November he brought a selection of British and Foreign silverwares dating from the 18th to the 21st Century, along with a range of ceramics including Royal Worcester, Doulton, Royal Copenhagen and Derby; also present were examples of period jewellery, objets d’art and watercolours.

Graham

Mel Osment - Oriental Works of Art and Collectables
We were delighted that Mel could join us once again. His array of mainly Oriental works of art is a constant source of wonder - ranging from intricate carvings in jade and ivory, through delicate porcelain and ceramics, to imposing bronzes, wooden carvings and militaria. Mel also finds space for some Art Deco pieces, as well as a few religious artefacts.
Recollections
- Mixed Antiques & Collectables
Tony and Jill Worthington came back to their
usual pitch for November, and offered another characteristically
exquisite selection of items. Jill has a penchant for scent bottles
and glass, with a special interest in
'Uranium' pieces, while Tony's contribution tends to be focused
on ceramics and silverwares, especially Royal Doulton and Poole and
what are usually referred to as Objets
de Virtu.

Dittany

|
Stephen
Rees - Collectables
With more than 20 years' experience as a dealer
in collectable antiques, Stephen's stall is a treasure trove
of the kind of fascinating items that visitors can't walk by
without a good "ruttle". Penknives, pieces of treen,
militaria, vintage watches, medals, carefully selected ceramics,
brassware, silver, leathergoods, lighters, pieces of jewellery,
and much more.

Winderella
- Antiques & Collectables – Ceramics, Glass, Metalware
Elizabeth Winder has had a pitch at The Holt
since the first fair, but is also a regular at Oxford’s
Gloucester Green market, the monthly Brill fair, Kidlington and
elsewhere in Oxfordshire. She has an eye for British & European
porcelain, Doulton figures, paperweights, art glass, Crown Devon
and vintage collectables, although she admits her true passion
is Art
Deco.

Michael
& Rosemary Wyber – Jewellery,
Ceramics, Pictures & Collectables
Michael and Rosemary will
be familiar to many Cotswold-based collectors,
who will have encountered their attractively-presented
stock at fairs across the region, including
the Friday market in Cirencester. Rosemary

"ladies' accessories" vying for attention
